Combining a moisturiser serum with a sheer foundation, giving it the signature swirl pattern, the hydrating formula works in three phases. It’s marketed as a foundation that gives heavy coverage but it’s upto you on what type of coverage you need. This multi-tasking cream corrects skin tone and hides imperfections with its jam packed formula containing skincare ingredients and glycerin to brighten your complexion and keep it glowing. Glycerin, tiger grass extract and vitamin E deeply moisturise and plump the skin, giving long-lasting hydration and soothing qualities. CC creams, which stands for colour correcting creams, are either an absolute necessity or an unwanted extra step in any beauty lover’s daily routine.

As you can see, the coverage is excellent – it is sheer-looking and weightless but still makes my skin look pretty flawless. It also has an SPF of 50, meaning it works as a great alternative to heavy make-up or foundation in the summer months. I mix it with another one I was using to get the colour better, unfortunately it didn't help the oily issue!

Our tester is a CC cream lover, falling in love with the product after pairing back her everyday make-up from a full face of foundation to just a light touch of coverage to even out skintone and texture. Starting under the eyes and around the nose, apply in small circles and work outwards towards the hairline. It neutralises the redness in my skin, covers the blemishes and really softens the appearance of open pores, fine lines and wrinkles. A broad selection of CC creams is available, one of which is CC Instant Complexion Enhancer, a product created by Max Factor.

I usually don't wear much makeup but was looking for a light cream just to even out my skin tone and still look natural. While beauty balms (aka BB creams) act as a "skincare and make-up hybrid with added sun protection" – as expertly described by one of our reviewers – its sister product, CC cream, provides more coverage and really targets uneven skintone.

Goes on smoothly and stays put, I love this on days that I just can't be bothered with a face full of foundation, quick and easy to apply and looks fantastic. Max Factor Global Creative Design Director, Pat McGrath said: “As soon as CC creams were mentioned I said that’s Xperience. For those of you with oily skin (especially in the t-zone), the best way I've found to use this CC cream is to start with using an exfoliating cleanser, moisturise (focusing on any areas that tend to get dry), prime skin, use a setting powder on the parts of your face that get oily quickly, apply the CC cream using a beauty blender (to avoid moving the setting powder too much), then use setting powder again on the oil-prone areas and follow up with a matte setting spray.

As with all Clinique products, the science behind it is pretty impressive, with light scattering colour correcting optics neutralising complexion and aloe barbadensis leaf water, hyaluronic acid, trehalose and sorbitol all working to hydrate the skin and protect it against humidity. The colour matched well, maybe slightly light but the next shade was too dark and made me look orange. And CC creams do exactly that, blurring imperfections and correcting colour through clever skin-adapting pigments that contrast on the colour wheel – green pigments combat redness, for example. Infused with skincare ingredients such as cucumber water, rosehip extracts and sea buckthorn, the formula hydrates your skin leaving it feeling moisturised and smooth. Glycerine helps to hydrate the outer layer of skin by drawing moisture from the deeper levels, making skin feel smoother and softer.A clever multi-tasking makeup that provides flawless natural coverage with added skincare ingredients to hydrate your skin. For those looking to add a base for foundation, Kiko Milano is hard to beat, and anyone on a tight budget won’t be disappointed with Essence. Korean skincare brand Erborian may not be a brand you’ve already heard of, but it is starting to make subtle waves in the beauty community.

Max factor CC Creme is the current CC creme im using, I love the natural healthy glow it gives out whilst applying, it makes my complexion look amazingly smooth and soft, I also love the fact it has SPF in the contents! Get a flawless hydrated complexion with this CC Cream from Max Factor, covers like a foundation and is as lightweight as a BB Cream. This is my go to foundation, it covers and blends so well I don't ever use foundation anymore just this with a light dusting of powder to set!Skin trainer is a strange name for a CC cream, or any beauty product to be honest, and although this product won’t teach your skin how to do tricks, it does reduce the appearance of pores a lot. CC cream - or colour correcting cream - is a clever multi-tasking makeup, a must-have to obtain gorgeous, flawless coverage and hydrated, smooth looking skin . And if everyone from strangers on the street to professional make-up artists stops to ask what exactly has made your skin look that good, then you know it’s got to be something special. It hides the redness and small broken veins in my cheeks, dulls my blemishes and hides a lot of my scarring (not severe scarring).
