By the way when I first bought, I said to myself it just smells like sugar and water, but then I left it when back to it sparyed it on my hand and Jacket, and it gave out one of the best and one the most opulent smells, I could still smell this on my Jacket for a week and if a person came up close they could smell it too. Not as sweet as the OG Kalemat and a bit more fresh( I have a better OG Kalemat dupe that works for me in Masha'er by Oud Elite) but still near atomic in sillage and performance (2 sprays have 14+ hours of room-filling performance on my skin). However, despite the potency, the scent itself is light/airy/transparent enough that I can do up to 3 sprays. Jamal Al Kalimat was made by perfumers in Ard Al Rehan, which belongs to the Al Fakhar perfume house. A fantastic fragrance and much smoother than the original Kalemat, whose oud is more pronounced and bitter, and which has fruitiness that adds to the bitterness.

It begins with a honey accord, a tobacco leaf-ish thing, frankincense, myrrh, and something that smells vaguely like sweet oud. The kalemat black reminded me of the original with all that sweetness taken out and a mysterious scent remaining. The frankincense smells nothing like that dirty or ashtray kind you'd expect in most designer fragrances. I get an absolutely stunning opening blast of Frankincense paired with woodiness that I assume comes from the oud/agarwood and maybe some cedar. The aromas of rich lingonberry, fragrant rosemary and smoked musk jump out like beautiful words from a page. i believe that Montale still holds the records when it comes to longevity and projection - however this house makes better concoctions they have better compositions and a better Perfumer of course their blends are truly fantastic ! Perhaps honeyed, perhaps fruity, perhaps vanilla, but it doesn't smell like anything edible, thankfully.And that is how I got my 3 unsolicited compliments while I myself still wasn't able to enjoy the fragrance as they were experiencing it.
