About this deal

The perfect boozy treat during the lead up (and during) Christmas, we also can't help but think what a great accompaniment these would make in a homemade gift hamper. Of course, traditional milk is always a tasty choice, but you can also use water, coffee, or any milk alternative such as almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk. Enjoy: To serve, place a hot cocoa bomb in your favorite mug, then pour one cup of hot milk over it. To make your spheres you’ll want to use chocolate melting wafers or candy melts (those don’t taste great, so I’d stick with real chocolate). To serve the hot chocolate, you just need to steam or microwave 8 ounces of milk until it’s warm/hot.

Working with real chocolate is more challenging, but trust me, the result of your hard work will be well worth it!Bailey’s is perfect to mix with ingredients such as milk, coffee, and chocolate which is why it’s my first choice when making boozy chocolate bombs! Add a Bailey’s truffle to the center of the sphere and then surround with a few mini marshmallows, if desired.

Create a double boiler by placing a glass bowl over a pan, filled with an inch of water on the stove top.

Dark Chocolate Chips: These hot cocoa bombs use dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips to create a rich and luscious flavor. Coconut trees use little land, little water, and the production of coconuts requires no deforestation.

The cocoa bombs can sit out at room temperature as long as each one is separated by a cupcake liner. Here’s a video show off the heart-shaped bombs, and touching on using candy melts vs tempering chocolate! All you’ll need is a silicone mold, chocolate (for tempering) or chocolate melting wafers, hot chocolate mix, mini marshmallows, chocolate (for the ganache), and the Bailey’s Irish Cream.Step 2: Once melted, cut off a tiny piece of the corner on the ziplock bag and drizzle the melted chocolate back and forth over the top of the Bailey’s bombs. Using the back of a spoon (or a large pastry brush) coat each of the mold spheres with a thin layer of the melted chocolate. I like to vary the colors and lighten the color of the drizzle by adding a few white chocolate wafers to the chocolate and melting them in.

Today’s Bailey’s Hot Chocolate Bomb is a fun homemade gift or a way to indulge yourself on a cold winter night.Tempering chocolate allows you to control the heat of the melted chocolate, and gives the chocolate bombs a glossy professional finish. While tempered chocolate is the best option for making hot chocolate bombs (or any other chocolate confection), it can be a bit of a time-consuming process.
