About this deal

Our main gripe with the Honor Pad 8 is that it felt slow – slower, in fact, than other similar-priced slates. The performance is sufficient in real-world use. Chrome, YouTube, Feedly and even Office apps can be used smoothly – even a bit of multitasking is possible. We also have the 4 GB RAM to thank for that.

There’s 128GB storage, which isn’t too bad for a tablet of this price, and will likely be enough for most users – if you do need more, though, a microSD card slot gives you up to 512GB extra space. Honor Pad 8 software It feels pretty premium to hold, thanks to the glass material,. However, due to its size, we wouldn’t recommend using it with your hands – better to buy a stand or keyboard accessory and use it propped up on a surface. Honor Pad 8 display The resolution is 1200 x 2000, which technically counts as 2K, though its use of LCD tech and 60Hz refresh rate means it’s not the best-looking display around. The resolution is 1,920 x 1,200. The test data comes from the HONOR Laboratory. Actual size may vary depending on the configuration, manufacturing process, and measurement method. The measurement data standard calculates the screen ratio based on the area of the screen's visible area to the area of the front panel of the whole device.

For some people, these tasks are all you’ll want a tablet for, and if that’s you the Honor Pad 8 will be a fine budget option. But there are lots of other equally viable options on the market for those buyers too. Honor Pad 8 price and availability Let’s move on to the software. The Honor Pad X8 runs Android 12 out of the box, and Magic UI version 6.1 sits on top of it. This is Honor’s own interface, which is still very reminiscent of Huawei’s interface. The two manufacturers used to be one, but are not anymore. The Honor Pad X8 has a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels – roughly Full HD. I consider the resolution sufficient for a 10-inch screen. However, it’s also clear that you can see pixels when you hold it directly in front of your nose.

However, it’s also clear that it’s not one of the most powerful devices out there, as the benchmarks have shown. You can only play PUBG Mobile with HD graphics – and it runs great. Asphalt 9 also runs with occasional stutters, but the graphics do not look particularly nice here. As we’ve mentioned, the Honor Pad 8 has a 12-inch display. This screen size makes it one of the biggest tablets we’ve seen, save for premium models like the iPad Pro 12.9 or Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus or Ultra. It’s great to see that you can watch Netflix with HD quality, because the tablet has a Widevine level of L1. Not all Huawei tablets had that in the past. So, is the Honor Pad X8 a tablet worth getting? Well, it’s not particularly exciting. Overall, the Honor Pad X8 is a solid tablet – almost all features are solid. But it is not outstanding either. The Honor Pad X8 comes kitted out with a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1920×1200 resolution. The Honor Pad X9, meanwhile, boasts for a larger 11.5-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ 2000×1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Honor Pad X8 comes with a MediaTek MT8786 CPU, while the Honor Pad X9 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685. The MediaTek chipset was designed for mobile and tablet devices, with Honor claiming that it offers comprehensively higher running speeds than its predecessor, the Honor Pad X7. Again, for some people, performance isn’t important, but it did make the user experience a little frustrating at times. It’s also suitable as a cheap entertainment tablet because the two speakers on the sides are sufficiently loud and sound solid. Not breathtakingly good, but solid for the price. vaihdella kokoonpanon, valmistusprosessin ja mittausmenetelmän mukaan. Mittaustietostandardi laskee Due to its smaller size, it makes sense that the Honor Pad X8 comes with a smaller battery. A 5100mAh battery sits inside the Honor Pad X8, with no claims from the company on how long it’s expected to last. The Honor Pad X8 is powered by a MediaTek MT8786 processor, which is supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage is generous for this price range, as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 only has 3GB and 32GB in the cheapest version. Unfortunately, there is no LTE option.

The Pad X8 can hold its own quite well against similarly priced rivals in benchmarks like Geekbench 5 and the 3D Mark Wild Life test. In Geekbench 5, it’s a bit more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and the 3rd generation Lenovo Tab M10. The graphics performance is even significantly higher than the 12-inch Honor Pad 8. Unveiled at the annual tech event IFA 2022 in September 2022, the Honor Pad 8 went on sale immediately after.

The tablet generally feels sluggish to navigate, but the issues were worse for things like games or heavier apps. We tried to play Northgard and it kept stuttering, freezing and even crashing, and that’s not even the most top-end game we normally try.
