About this deal

SMART Technology comes in sensors, controls and design features within our products, usually our GIP product range. Superior Performance – the best you can buy in the UK for continuous single point ventilation (dMEV) Superior Performance – the best you can buy in the UK for continuous single point ventilation (dMEV) The unique ability to adjust and specifically set airflow for each home to meet design criteria – Guaranteed Installed Performance

The very first SMART Technology launched was Greenwood CommissionSMART™ Technology on our iconic Unity CV2GIP product. Designed for new build and refurbishment applications, it delivers a cutting edge performance as a result of its unique and innovative design – Unity CV2GIP is really one of a kind! Key benefits: Unity CV2GIP features a new and logical approach to timer operation. Its SMARTer beacause in contrast to traditional timers, it looks at the duration of occupancy to define running time rather than have a fixed running period. This removes nuisance running noise, especially at night, and unnecessary energy wastage and heat loss typically associated with traditional timers. The unique ability to adjust and specifically set airflow for each home to meet design criteria – Guaranteed Installed PerformanceThe Greenwood CV2GIP Extractor Fan uses SMART technology for a more efficient and environmentally friendly extractor fan. All airflow and automatic sensor controls set through innovative touch-pad Dimensions: Performance: Superior Performance – the best you can buy in the UK for continuous single point ventilation (dMEV). The unique ability to adjust and specifically set airflow for each home to meet design criteria – Guaranteed Installed Performance With outstanding energy performance and in-built SMART technology it meets and exceeds the current Building Regulations in both new and refurbishment housing projects each and every time. SMART Technology is a fusion of sensors, controls and innovative design features that makes ventilation work SMARTer for the home and the environment by reducing energy wastage and heat loss

This fan is suitable for bathrooms, WCs or kitchens, in apartments or houses, for the wall or the ceiling. The second introduction of SMART Technology was Greenwood HumidiSMART™ which has taken humidity controlled ventilation by storm - now available in Unity CV2GIP, Omnique, Samika, Vireo MVHR and Centair CMEV.4e.The third SMART technology in practise is Greenwood CommissionSMART™ designed into Vireo, a brand new range of heat recovery ventilation units that offer the easiest and fastest commissioning process ever! Unity CV2GIP revolves around a one product concept – One Fan, Any Room, All Installations and is the newest and most innovative dMEV fan to be brought to the UK Market. Suitable for new build and refurbishment – no homeowners and tenants. SMART Technology by Greenwood – more efficiencies, more effective and tangible savings!

SMART Technology is a fusion of sensors, controls and innovative design features that makes ventilation work SMARTer for the home and the environment. An extractor fan can run for as long as it is needed, provided that it has the appropriate power supply. Most extractor fans come with a built-in thermostat that allows you to set and monitor the amount of time the fan is running. This helps reduce energy consumption and ensures that the fan doesn’t become too hot during operation. If left on continually, it is important to ensure ventilation is maintained in the form of fresh air entering rooms, as extracting air may cause problems such as pressurisation and extraction that impair the control of room temperatures. TimerSMART™ - CV2GIP features Greenwood's intelligent TimerSMART™ overrun timer which helps to reduce heat and energy loss. TimerSMART™helps to deliver effective ventilation by detecting the total time of occupancy to determine how long the fan runs for, rather than using pre-defined sets of time sets which may not be suitable. Traditional humidity sensors usually provide ventilation when it is needed, but it is often when it isn’t needed that the fan still comes on... WHY???? Because it uses a generic base line to activate the fan e.g. 65%. If it happens to be a hot summer's evening and the windows are open in the bathroom, this will activate the fan therefore causing nuisance running and unnecessary energy consumption!TimerSMART™ - overrun for 5 minutes - a logical approach that removes unnecessary heat loss and nuisance running The 2010 Building Regulations now focus on installed ventilation performance meeting design criteria for the first time (GIP - Guaranteed Installed Performance). This is the first step to ventilation becoming a controlled service within a dwelling and means systems will be inspected and tested prior to sign off by Building Control. Greenwood HumidiSMART™ provides humidity controlled ventilation without nuisance running (in the middle of the night!), unnecessary heat loss and energy consumption from homes. It activates ventilation in response to man-made spikes in humidity only because it works with the 'real time' installed environment and knows exactly what the normal level of humidity is at any given point in time. It then uses this as its base line to look for spikes. With a SFP as low as 0.16W/l/s, Unity CV2GIP achieves top of class performance for the dMEV category for SAP Appendix Q – an achievement for all installation applications. The delivery of this outstanding performance contributes to maximum rewards for DER's in SAP and results in the lowest running costs for continuous ventilation – the equivalent to two cans of branded baked beans for the entire year!
