XP WS6 headphones represent the newer generation of wireless headphones by XP. These are not only headphones, they also work as a remote control box, being able to connect to the coil. This way, the detectorist can use a super lite version of Deus II, and enjoy the utmost convenience and flexibility.

XP Deus II is a lightweight, ergonomic new metal detector following the state of the art technologies and design. With its S-shaped telescopic stem, Deus II allows using either the control box, or the headphones XP WS6 control panel, thus making the operation more convenient and customizable for the user. Deus II is even lighter and handier, plus, being completely wireless sets a new level of quality other manufacturers may struggle to catch up with. The search coil, the remote control, the headphones, and also the pinpointer can all be paired, and communicate with each other wirelessly, using the XP patented radio protocol system. This advanced system provides smooth performance and reduces the risks of damaging the whole thing. RELIC: FMF • Max. freq. 24khz • Frequency subtraction. RELIC is processed in the same way as Prg. 8 - GOLD FIELD, but uses lower subtracted frequencies to search for large masses. It is configured for “all metal” with low Reactivity and only rejects the localised ground to which you should regularly adjust by Grabbing (see Ground). It will then accept ground above and below this ground setting.

No matter what you get out of this article, the facts are the facts. Both the Deus II and the Equinox are excellent metal detectors and while some of you will never part with your Minelab, Garrett, XP, Fisher, etc. machines, there will be others who may like something in one of these metal detectors that might draw them into trying something new. After 20 hours, slowly start making small changes and test those changes to determine the impact those changes have on your Deus II.A good idea is to walk a couple of paces up and down and listen to the signals. If you suspect any false signals, you can adjust the reactivity. Salt water is conductive, so another way to get the coil to settle is to run the surf over the coil a few times while the ‘Salt Sensitivity’ setting is adjusted from the maximum to around 7/6. Combine the innovative technology with their patented & super lightweight telescopic ‘S’ stem. The handle/stem assembly is patented due to the clever design allowing the stems to slide within each other, the clever part is that it’s all within the ‘S’ shaped handle, unlike other manufacturers who have to try & work around the XP patent with less comfortable & often flimsy/fragile alternatives. FAST is based on the same platform as Prg. 2 - SENSITIVE, but the audio is set to Pitch mode with Reactivity at 3 instead of 2.5 and uses the square audio feature. These three settings combined allow the machine to work fast in ferrous-polluted and mineralized ground. Obviously for me coils and rods matter as much as other factors, as in my opinion performance gets rather hair splitting these days if you compare two detectors with identical coils. But how does a Deus 2 really compete in situations when an oversized coil is called for, when there is not one made for the machine, and you’d hate the balance if there were? Overall, Equinox is simply more versatile, and coil and rod options have a lot to do with that.

The XP Deus has the option to fit 5 different coils and could pair with the remote control, its headphones, and the optional pinpointer within seconds. XP Deus II allows the treasure hunter to use any of the 49 single frequencies, separately. This means that the treasure hunter can adjust their settings to specific location, environment, depth, level of mineralization, or type of target, and focus on these specifications only. Such a narrow search removes the distractions created by other types of targets, and makes tuning of the metal detector very focused. Remote Control
