I found the main character brash, whiny, and annoying, and the fact that he's prone to shouting and going nuts didn't endear him to me at all. It´s one of the most graphic and dark mangas I´ve read so far, Death Note, Tokyo Ghoul, and a little bit of Full Metal Alchemist are dark fantasy too, but this one is especially disturbing because of the amazing quality of the art. So maybe not for everyone, but for special people like me, who are into darkness and invite gore, torture, and human suffering in their already struggling souls to feed them with the screams of the dying, a great entertainment. However, all that emotion paired up with the beginning art style of the manga made some intense or dramatic moments... a little too funny much to my delight/chagrin. I know it's Isayama's first ever project and manga, so I don't mind this convoluted art, but I can't help to admire the difference with his later work. It did make it a bit challenging to be able to interpret what was happening thanks to it.
