Ergoflex also adds a bit of height to the handle, making it easier for a taller person to use. We must say that this Bosch mower does perform well when it comes to collecting clippings. It doesn’t make a massive mess of your garden. And the grass box provides plenty of capacity for small to medium sized gardens. The Rotak 36 R does NOT mulch the grass, but the grass box can be left off, and the mower can be run over the same spot to chop the grass into smaller pieces. What’s Included in the Box? The Rotak 36 R features a 1350W electric motor that produces high cutting speed and power. As with all Rotak models, the mower uses an innovative PowerDrive system, which is technology unique to Bosch mowers that provide the motor with increased torque for efficient mowing in all conditions. Another thing we really like about this mower is the five available cutting height adjustment settings. The 20mm – 70mm range of cutting heights provided just about covers any type of mowing you might be doing – from a short cut to manage fast-growing grass in summer, to a higher 70mm cut as you prepare your grass for hibernation in winter. The Bosch Rotak 36 R is supplied with a centrally located carry handle that is well balanced and makes carrying the lightweight mower a breeze.Many people don’t mow frequently of course, in which case the higher blade settings are very useful. Use these when mowing to avoid removing too much grass at once, which can otherwise cause scalping and bare batches. As mentioned, the mower comes with a 36cm cutting width, which is ideal for working on medium size lawns. It removes huge swathes of the lawn with one pass, providing you aren’t working on lawns larger than 300m2 – anything bigger and you’ll want a wider cutting blade to reduce mowing time. If there are any negatives to be worried about, it is the length of the power cord. 10 metres is not long enough for a 300 square metre garden that must be over 10 metres in one direction. If you choose this mower, that is highly recommended in all other aspects, then you are going to need an extension cord for larger gardens. The first thing I noticed about the Bosch Rotak 36’s construction is that it’s reasonably lightweight for such a durable product — something that’s rare to find at this price point.
